Diamond Imports fall in May

The information supplied by Statistics New Zealand show a net import into the country of $14.34 million of polished diamonds for the year to the end of May.
As the chart below shows, imports have dropped significantly in the last two months compared to 2007. In the latest month for which figures are available, the May 08 imports of $1.67 million were down 53.5% on the same month in 2007.
