Precious Olympic medals delivered to organisers

reports China Daily.

The precious metals – 13 kilograms of gold, 1,240 kilograms of silver, and 6,930 kilograms of copper – used in the gold, silver and bronze medals were imported from Chile and Australia; and the jade incorporated in the medals comes from the Kunlun Mountain range in west China.

Gao Min, who won gold medals in diving at the 1988 and 1992 Olympic Games, praised the China-made medals "for being more beautiful than previous ones."
