Diamond Valuation

Diamond jewellery ranges from a single solitaire ring to a tennis bracelet with many stones. Whatever form your diamond jewellery takes, we can value it.

JVC’s valuers are all trained diamond graders. We will assess your jewellery using our experienced application of the 4Cs (colour, clarity, cut and carat weight).

Combining the latest identification methods and our thorough knowledge of the New Zealand jewellery markets, we will provide you with a well-informed, evidence-based report.

HOW WE VALUE YOUR DIAMOND JEWELLERY

IDENTIFICATION

  • Correct identification of diamonds as natural and untreated requires more experience, training and equipment than ever. With many synthetic diamonds now on the New Zealand market, as well as older imitations, our first step is accurate identification.

GRADING

  • Accurate diamond grading requires great experience as well as training. Our staff grade many thousands of diamonds every year – so you can trust their expertise.

RESEARCH

  • Depending on the intended use of the valuation, we will refer to sales and prices from retail jewellery stores, wholesale price lists, auction results and published price guides. Our final report is personalised for your jewellery.
